Another promising band from the Philipines, Exitus. Isn’t it an odd name? Well, what’s not odd is the music they play – nasty, grim and untamed Metal. Demo 2015 is a wicked brew of South American BM,  Thrash & Punk.

“Let Them Rot” has an impressive 4 songs. Catchy riffs, belligerent mood, and chaotic environment(since it was recorded live). Songwriting/arrangement is similar to international bands who also plays or worship this kind of Metal. Has been out for quite a while now and it would be great to hear the release after this. Demo-2016 is at hand right now and I will create another post for that.

It’s worth adding this to your CD collection. Ask or it, below is the band details.

Exitus are:

Jaggi Alcantara – Bass

Jay Orosa – Vocals,Guitars

Melvin Villarba – Drums

Gravewards – Subconscious Lobotomy – Demo 2017

The painful scream of Nikos (Guitars & Throat) starts this demo. It seems that he was casketed alive while he did that scream. The song is Casket Entrapment – There is a strong aura of Dismember here which I like. The heaviness and neck-breaking aggression at the end of this song didn’t disappoint.

Nikos informed me that there is an uploaded track on YouTube. So, while waiting for the cassette to arrive, I browsed and listened online to Subconscious Lobotomy. I tried to understand this song but unfortunately it hasn’t made an impression to me. I know it’s heavy but the overall collaboration of the instruments all throughout (except for the last part) wasn’t memorable, it’s not as strong as Casket Entrapment. Coincidentally, the highlight here is the ending of the song, that pace changes the mood and somewhat made it more interesting.

Crawling chaos is my favourite track. The infectious intro is already a testament for me to idolize this song. The crushing desolating noise is absolute on this track, doom! Memorable part for me here is the double bass – it’s like an impenetrable wall of noise equivalent to the unbreakable shield of the Hellenic ancient army!

The Melodic Death/Thrash – Death womb Incubation finishes off this demo. It has the vibe of Casket Entrapment as well. 3 out of 4 for me, I’ve heard that they are working on a new material, I will catch them again for the new record. The (primitive) future of Gravewards from Greece looks promising. Demo cassette is still available, support the band, get it as soon as you can. Band contact – gravewardsband@gmail.com
